Learning and Education

As an educational charity, the Shuttleworth Trust prides itself on being able to respond to the particular needs of visiting groups and we are happy to design bespoke learning activities to suit your requirements.

All of our packages include pre-visit and post-visit extension activities to help you prime, reinforce, stretch & challenge and measure learning. We are committed to lifelong learning and offer a diverse range of formal and informal education programmes, from EYFS to U3A.

Space
Our learning spaces

The Collection and Swiss Garden both have dedicated learning spaces, which you will have exclusive use of. Activities will also take place throughout each area including outdoor areas (depending on the programme).

Hartford School

I cannot express my gratitude enough towards you and your team! There were so many comments from all the staff and my volunteers about the experience the children had and ALL were positive!

Visit
Education visits

Add an exciting dimension to your programme by booking an educational visit to Shuttleworth. We are committed to lifelong learning and offer a diverse range of formal and informal education programmes for all levels from Early Years to Degree level and beyond. We offer visits to either attraction, and combined visits to both. Shuttleworth makes an ideal venue for a trip for your youth organisation or school, offering enrichment to syllabus topics and may also used to gain evidence for badges/awards that you offer.

U3A

It was by far the best guided visit I have had to a museum since I lost my sight. You really brought it all to life.

The Discovery Team

As a part of the Shuttleworth Trust Discovery Team, young people aged 13-23 work closely to host fun and educational family activities. In monthly meetings, fresh ideas and collaboration are encouraged to help lead the Trust into the future.

Thornhill School

The children were ‘buzzing’ both before and after the trip and are producing excellent work as a follow up to it.

From Youth Groups and Schools

What Youth Groups and Schools have had to say about their experience at Shuttleworth

Laburnhum Primary

From the moment the children entered Hangar 3, to their drop off by vintage bus, they were gripped! I was especially touched by how welcoming everyone was, from our expert guides to the many Collection volunteers we met along the way. Thank you!
You can expect us to book again next year!

Judy

Houghton Primary

We have had so many comments from parents who cannot stop their children from talking about their experiences. They soaked up so much information- it has really brought our topic alive. Your facilities are amazing, the topic was pitched just right, the guides were not only experts but also intent on giving small children a great time as well as imparting knowledge.

Wilden Rainbows

Wilden Rainbows had a wonderful afternoon yesterday....The session in the hangars was great. The Rainbows enjoyed seeing the aircraft and cars, finding the photos and linking them on their sheets. You told the women's stories in a really entertaining way, and held the girls' attention. The STEM activities broke up the session well and were fun.

Jackie

Gamlingay School

Your sessions were pitched perfectly, and your engagement with the children was excellent.
